Report to: Plant Supervisor
Job Summary:
• Read and interpret shop prints, templates, and sales orders to correctly machine parts.
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments.
• Operate various types of machine tools, including manual lathes, mills, and drill presses to perform progressive machining.
• Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines.
• Detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls as necessary.
• Measure, examine, and test completed parts to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Read and interpret shop prints and sales orders. Calculate dimensions and tolerances. Operate manual lathes, mills, and drill presses. Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines. Detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance parts and adjust machine controls. Measure, examine, and test completed parts.
Qualifications:
• A good work ethic and a results-oriented focus
• A minimum of one to two years of solid manual machine shop experience
• Successfully complete the required on the job training.
• Possess mathematical skills and the ability to work with drawing dimensions and tolerances.
• Ability to read and understand engineering specifications and shop drawings.
• Skill to operate various types of manual machining equipment.
• Ability to work in a non-airconditioned environment.
• Ability to stand and work for up to 10 hours.
• Ability to lift 50 lb.
• Must adhere to all safety procedures.
• Must wear all applicable PPE, including but not limited to steel toe boots, safety glasses, and ear plugs.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to pass a drug test.
• Must be able to pass a national criminal background check.

Position type: Long Term Temporary
Pay rate: $17.00 per hour plus $1.00 night shift differential, based on ability and experience
Normal Business
Hours: 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, 4PM – 10PM on Saturday as needed.
