MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or GED. A valid and commercial driver's license (CDL) is required. Journeyman Lineman certification. On-call position; required to carry a company-provided cell phone and respond to trouble calls on weekends, holidays, and after hours. Must reside within a 25-minute driving distance from the warehouse. A strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office is preferred. RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES Use journeyman-level knowledge of electrical line work to safely construct and maintain electric distribution and transmission lines and substations. Climb poles of all types and perform jobs off the poles, including changing out of arms, transformers, conductors, etc. Respond to power outages and member problems and troubleshoot to restore power in a timely manner. Perform switching procedures on transmission and distribution apparatus when deemed necessary or as directed to facilitate operations. Hook up single-phase and multi-phase transformer connections using the correct configuration to assure end-users of proper voltage levels. Locate and mark underground cable routes as requested to allow others to safely dig without service interruption or cable damage. Drive and operate bucket truck, digger, trencher, forklift, and skid loader to frame and set poles, lay wire, tie wire, connect and disconnect services, and perform tree trimming Responsible for the assigned vehicle, equipment, tools, and materials, keeping them clean and in good, safe working condition. Also responsible for inspections and mileage reports. Maintain current knowledge of equipment, RUS specifications, OSHA regulations, NEC, NESC, mapping system, company policies and procedures, and other operational and regulatory systems related to the position's responsibilities. Ensure safety rules are followed in accordance with company policy and the APPA safety manual. Direct, guide, and train personnel in lower-level apprenticeship programs or equivalent. All training shall emphasize safe working practices. Provide appropriate member service as needed through regular direct contact to ensure member satisfaction, ongoing communication, and other duties as assigned. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT The position requires fieldwork in an electrical environment. It is regularly exposed to inclement weather conditions and the risk of electrical hazards from Littlefield, AZ, to Fillmore, UT. Dixie Power
