We are seeking Bengali Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Bengali is one of the most frequently requested South Asian languages, essential for immigration and asylum cases.

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time Bengali English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders.
• Interpret in immigration, legal, and administrative contexts with professionalism, impartiality, and confidentiality.
• Follow USCIS/DHS compliance standards and interpreter ethics.
• Handle scheduled assignments as well as urgent/surge calls.
• Participate in training sessions, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance reviews.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in Bengali and English.
• 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, government, or medical preferred).
• Strong knowledge of interpreter ethics and confidentiality requirements.
• Excellent verbal communication and cultural competency.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 federal clearance.
