Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Body Shop Manager to lead our team of skilled technicians and drive the success of our auto body shop. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in auto body repair, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the body shop, including writing estimates, scheduling, workflow management, and staff supervision.
- Ensure high-quality repairs and timely completion of work by managing repair processes and quality control.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain and manage inventory of parts and supplies, ensuring cost-effectiveness and availability.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Develop and manage the body shop budget, including labor costs, parts expenses, and other operational costs.
- Foster a positive work environment by mentoring and training staff, conducting performance evaluations, and promoting teamwork.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure the shop remains competitive and innovative.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Body Shop Manager or in a similar leadership role within the auto body repair industry.
- Strong knowledge of auto body repair techniques, tools, and equipment.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Exceptional customer service skills and a commitment to providing a positive customer experience.
- Proficient in using repair shop management software and other relevant tools.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on quality.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift and handle car parts up to 50lbs.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; automotive trade school or certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in auto body repair, with at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role.
