About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead the development and operations of risk management efforts, including data and systems security, and IT business continuity. The CISO will be responsible for overseeing the performance of security functionality for all members and will lead a small team in various security and compliance management strategies. This role involves close partnership with digital security and trust, as well as serving as the primary contact for compliance, internal audit, risk management, and business continuity. The CISO will also be involved in designing and testing IT internal controls and security frameworks, as well as facilitating risk assessments and incident response. Candidates for the CISO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, extensive IT work experience in an academic or research setting, and at least 7 years of leadership experience in managing large, cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering solutions on time and within budget, experience in influencing senior management, and excellent communication skills. One or more of the following certifications is required: CISSP, CISM, or CRISC. A Master's degree is desired, as well as experience with Atlassian Jira, Confluence, and Service Now ITSM. The CISO will also be responsible for the security, risk reduction, and compliance aspects of IT process improvement and strategic change initiatives, and must be adept at promoting best security practices across the organization.
