Job Details Primary Duties And Responsibilities Maintain reasonable supervision over customs business at the shipment level. Full knowledge and ability to file all entry types and address all government agency requirements until fully released. Respond to inquiries for authorization to ship to USA. Rate shipments using the US Harmonized Tariff code book, understanding FDA product builder, USDA, USFW, and ACE data elements. Handle high-profile client shipments for timely and accurate processing. Answer questions from colleagues, clients, and other offices regarding import/export regulations. Research regulatory requirements as needed to support compliance. Support Regulatory Brokers with Power of Attorney vetting, bonds, and compliance concerns. Guide staff with questions, troubleshoot clearance delays, holds, exams, rejections, and AMS delays. Liaise between US Customs, PGA, and clients regarding admissibility. Run reports to monitor pending releases and facilitate customs clearance. Audit entries for accuracy, compliance, and trend analysis; escalate issues as needed. Adhere strictly to SOPs, Work Instructions, Ops Memos, and Guidelines. Stay current on Customs and PGA regulations. Experience And Educational Requirements Maintain a valid Customs License for the duration of employment. Possess a Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) certificate and obtain 20 renewal points annually. In-depth knowledge of the ACE system and entry process. Professional communication skills via phone and email regarding shipment status. Ability to develop strong relationships with US customs, DEA, USDA, FDA, CDC, and US Fish and Wildlife. Understanding of Incoterms. Attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Pleasant personality and professional demeanor. Flexibility with schedule; overtime may be required.
