More at Location: San Diego, CA Division: Air & Sea US Job Title: Freight Forwarder, Ocean Import Type: Full Time Summary The Ocean Import Freight Forwarder manages the import process of goods via ocean freight, including customs clearance, carrier booking, cargo tracking, and final delivery. The role involves coordinating with carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies to ensure efficient and timely delivery. Responsibilities Manage ocean import operations, including customs clearance and delivery Coordinate with carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies Track shipments and update customers Prepare and submit customs documentation Ensure compliance with regulations and trade laws Maintain relationships with customers and provide excellent service Qualifications Experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or related fields preferred Ocean import experience highly desirable Skills & Competencies Mathematical Skills Ability to perform basic calculations for costs and rates Other Skills Organizational and time management skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Industry Knowledge Understanding of ocean freight logistics and customs regulations Knowledge of trade laws Language Skills Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus Computer Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with logistics software preferred Employment Details Employees are hired as at-will, meaning employment can be terminated at any time for any lawful reason. The same applies to employees' right to resign. In Montana, termination requires just cause. The hourly pay range is $22.50 - $30.50, determined by experience, skills, and location.
