Job Description
Are you a creative and detail-oriented student with a passion for design and a strong interest in marketing? We're looking for a Graphic Design & Marketing Intern to join our team. In this role, you'll work closely with our design specialist to create high-quality artwork and communication materials while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment.
This is a paid internship for approximately 20 hours per week, with a start date in mid-January 2026 and continuing through June 2026. It's a great opportunity to build your portfolio and expand your skills in both design and marketing. What You'll DoCreate Engaging Designs: You'll conceptualize, design, and produce a wide range of digital and print materials, including layouts for logos, websites, promotional items, and more. You'll also create technical illustrations, charts, and graphs using design software.
Collaborate on Projects: You'll work with our team to ensure all designs are high-quality, professional, and consistent with our brand standards. You'll also assist with special events and use project management software to keep things on track.
Gain Marketing Experience: In addition to your design duties, you'll participate in marketing team meetings and content planning sessions. You'll also get the chance to shadow different specialists on the team to learn about various aspects of marketing.
Be a Team Player: You'll interact with program directors, members, and guests, and participate in our cross-departmental intern programs.
Design Skills: You have experience using Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and Canva.
Organized and Creative: You're organized with a strong attention to detail and can think both conceptually and independently.
Collaborative Mindset: You're comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
A Passion for Learning: You have a passion for design and an interest in learning about marketing for non-profit organizations.
Portfolio Ready: You must be able to provide a portfolio of your work upon applying.
Education: You must have at least four semesters of college coursework completed and be currently pursuing a major in visual communication, design, digital media, or a similar field.
Travel: You're willing to travel throughout the JCC's service areas.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
