Job Summary and Qualifications

• Oversees the daily operations of the Environmental Services (EVS) Department, ensuring that work is completed in a timely and satisfactory manner. 
• Position may include, but is not limited to scheduling, employee relations, hiring, ordering supplies and quality assurance. 
• Actively participates in duties as related to patient needs and functioning of the hospital environment.
•  Responsible for ensuring adequate and competent staffing for the department.
•  Responsible for assisting in the interviewing and/or hiring of qualified staff and managing staff with appropriate management techniques to result in employee engagement scores meeting goals. 
• Responsible for maintaining acceptable turnover with area of responsibility.
•  Responsible for orientation and training of new staff as well as continued education of existing staff in areas of responsibility. 
• Ensures productivity levels meet standards. 
• Responsible for maintaining adequate supplies and operating within the budgetary guidelines. 
• Ensures the services provided by the department meet customer expectations. Performs other job duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:

• High School Diploma required
• Associates degree preferred
• 3+ years of managing environmental services required
• Knowledge of hospital and healthcare operations and financial metrics preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred
