Overview NELSON is seeking an Interior Designer II for the Workplace Practice in Dallas, New York City, and the San Francisco Bay Area. The Interior Designer II is responsible for interior design assignments and working with the project team to provide design support in project administration, design development, and drawing production in all phases. Candidates should have strong Revit skills, presentation skills, and experience with conceptual design. Responsibilities Conduct field surveys as required; field surveys must be easy to read and thorough. Assist in preparation of drawings for all design phases. Update design documents as needed for all levels of designers. Develop solutions to technical and design problems following established standards. Prepare 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings. Build models for client/project team review. Provide research and compile data during design phases. Prepare and modify architectural documents, elevations, sections, details, etc. Participate in design charrettes and project team meetings. Participate in client meetings as directed. Participate in the construction process as requested (site visits, punch lists, submittals, shop drawing review, etc.). Attend "lunch and learn" events and other vendor presentations on an ongoing basis. Complete timesheet daily and expense reports accurately and on-time. Assist in the programming phases as directed. Assist with the schematic phases as directed (sketching, input of sketches, modification of schematic test fit plans, etc.). Possess basic knowledge of project budgets and schedules and understand responsibility to adhere to set parameters. Qualifications Proficiency in Revit is required Proficiency in AutoCAD/Architectural Desktop Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, and InDesign graphic software preferred Basic knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, materials application and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness Basic knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, drawings, and models Basic knowledge of furniture, fixture and equipment (FF&E), architectural/interior finishes, lighting, art signage, color and materials to carryout design intent Knowledge of sustainability, integrated design, and LEED guidelines Basic knowledge of the construction process as it relates to the drawings being produced Ability to work in a team environment Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing Ability to organize and prioritize tasks as needed to complete within the identified time frame and/or deadline Knowledge of expectations related to high quality service to clients Possess basic hand and CAD drafting skills Possess space planning skills and interest in programming Basic proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign preferred Basic proficiency in 3D Modeling software such as 3D Studio Max and Viz 2006 preferred Basic proficiency in Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint Education / Experience Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from an accredited University 5+ years' experience; or equivalent in appropriate education and experience working in the field of Architecture Compensation and Benefits National salary range: $50,000 – $85,000 (5+ years experience). Additional compensation includes bonuses and benefits (compensation factors are based upon years of relevant experience, qualifications/licensure, education, and location).
