HonorVet Technologies is seeking a local contract Hospital Pharmacist for a local contract job in Whittier, California.

Job Title: Pharmacist Inpatient (Night Shift)
Location: Whittier, CA 90602

shift: 4x10's (20:00-06:30) 7 on/7 off is Thursday, so they work 3 days in one week and 4 days in the next week.

Contract Duration:26 weeks 

 

Pay Rate : $70- $ 72 Per Hour on W2  

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide pharmaceutical care and clinical support to inpatient units.
• Prepare and dispense medications using sterile techniques.
• Administer intravenous preparations including IV piggybacks, IV push medications, chemotherapy, and pain-controlled analgesia.
• Monitor therapeutic medication levels and dosing for various populations (geriatric, pediatric, renal, cardiac, etc.).
• Manage anticoagulant and warfarin dosing protocols.
• Respond to code situations as part of the medical team.
• Utilize Allscripts charting system effectively for documentation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient care.
• Adhere to hospital policies and safety protocols, including sterile compounding and medication dispensing systems (Carousel System).

Qualifications:

• Doctorate in Pharmacy (PharmD) required.
• Valid California Pharmacist License required at time of submission.
• Minimum 5 years of hospital inpatient pharmacy experience required; preferably in hospitals with over 400 beds or with acute hospital residency program completion.
• Experience with Allscripts electronic charting system preferred.
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PharmD. Board Certification preferred.
• Skills in chemotherapy, compounding, IV preparation, and various clinical dosing preferred.
• No predominantly retail or ambulatory care experience accepted.
