Position Summary:

Samsung SDS plays a leading role in the global logistics market with unique logistics services. We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced staff member for our inbound control tower group. This role is responsible for managing and overseeing the end-to-end movement of shipments, both internationally and domestically. It is a key position that ensures accurate analytical data is provided internally and to our customers.

  Responsibilities:

• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inbound ocean shipments, including lead time, delivery accuracy, container dwell time, and demurrage and detention, as well as document compliance.
• Address and resolve any shipment-related issues by communicating with steamship lines, port terminals, rail companies, and trucking companies.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies found in operational reports and systems.
• Provide weekly reports on KPIs within various inbound business scopes.
• Analyze performance trends and identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with IT or system providers to automate reporting where possible.
• Keep daily reports updated and ensure they are organized and easily accessible.
• Establish communication channels and conduct regular meetings with steamship lines, port terminals, trucking companies, and customers to ensure effective operations.
• Perform ad-hoc reporting as necessary.
• Undertake other job-related duties as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or High School Diploma required
• Experience in route planning, including finding optimal routes using various transport modes and multimodal transport setups.
• Experience in establishing and managing logistics processes for various types, including international operations, local transportation, and operational guidelines.
• A positive attitude and the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
• Detail-oriented and capable of working under pressure.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Proficient in Outlook and Microsoft Office (Excel/PowerPoint/Word), particularly with functions such as VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
• Strong prioritization skills, with the ability to address urgent issues while managing other responsibilities effectively.
• Ability to travel up to 10% in U.S.
• Required to work onsite Santa Ana, CA

Your base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This allows you to progress as you grow and develop within the position. The base pay range for this role is between $28.00 ~ $38.00 / hour, and your base pay will depend on your skills, education, qualifications, experience, and location.
