Marine Technician

Even though we deal in boats, we operate all year round with tasks and paces that vary with the seasons.

Applicants looking to start in this position should expect to receive $15-$18 per hour, based on experience. This is a full-time position and will require Saturday and overtime hours during peak season. Starting employees will have the ability to learn and grow in their careers with M-W Marine.

• Diagnosing and repairing issues on fishing boats 22ft and smaller, Mercury outboard engines up to 400HP, Mercruiser sterndrive engines, and trailers.
• Performing maintenance work on these boats, motors, and trailers.
• Performing electronics, fish finder, and trolling motor installation.
• Looking up appropriate parts and labor to help in providing an estimate of repair costs to the customers.
• Calling customers to explain issues found and the recommended repairs and maintenance.

• Have mechanical experience.
• Be able to use computer diagnostic software in order to diagnose engine issues.
• Have basic 12 volt electrical skills.
• Be able to type notes into our computer system so that the customer is aware of what issues were found and what work has been performed.
• Be courteous to customers and respectful of their property.
• Be able to work in a team oriented environment.
• Mercury technical certification is not required, we will train on the job and provide Mercury's schooling to technicians.
