Job Description

Must Have:

  • 7+ years of experience as a Project Manager within Plumbing.
  • Must be able to read analyze, and interpret blueprints, details, schematics, specifications, contracts, technical procedures/regulations, and other construction documents.
  • Must have a working knowledge of all trade-related tools, equipment, processes, and techniques.
  • Must have strong communication skills (both written and oral) and the ability to write reports, business correspondence, etc.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions within groups of managers, clients, customers, and contractors.
  • Ability to use common computer programs effectively (e.g. MS Project, MS Word, MS Excel, etc.).
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs and to apply these concepts to the work.

Summary:

The Project Manager coordinates and manages the paperwork, materials, contract scope, purchasing, performance, closeout documents, safety, and any other aspects affecting the successful execution of projects assigned to him. He will also be expected to maintain good customer/subcontractor relationships, and to foster a good work environment.

Day to Day:

Attend pre-job hand-off meetings with the Estimator, Account Manager, and Engineer to coordinate scope of work, design, and other bid/contract info.

  • Attend job walks and pre-job conferences.
  • Read and accurately interpret plans and specifications.
  • Review and/or process contracts and job start packets.
  • Plan/schedule new projects and identify potential issues or concerns. Provide a plan of action to resolve issues as early as possible.
  • Write, submit and track RFI's and RCO's for active projects in a timely manner.
  • Write and submit subcontracts and change orders for active projects.
  • Write and submit purchase order requests for active projects.
  • Obtain permits from various agencies as required.
  • Maintain job files.
  • Coordinate with Estimator on bids/RCO's larger than $5,000.
  • Coordinate with Engineer on all design issues. Obtain engineer approval on all design changes.
  • Approve invoices when appropriate.
  • Submit and approve project billings to ensure billings are timely and accurate.
  • Maintain and account for safety documentation.
  • Visit jobsites to review methods and production.
  • Track and manage project costs and duration to ensure accuracy in accounting.
  • Actively seek assistance when needed.
  • Uphold all Company standards, core values and procedures.
  • Supervision of a Project Engineer as applicable

Compensation:

$130,000/yr to $160,000/yr

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
