**Join Our Team as a Respiratory Care Intern – Make a Meaningful Impact While You Learn**

Are you passionate about helping others breathe easier and eager to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic healthcare environment? We’re seeking a motivated and compassionate Respiratory Care Intern to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced respiratory therapists, contribute to patient care, and develop essential clinical skills in a supportive and collaborative setting.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in clinical research projects as required.
\n
• Communicate with all other healthcare personnel regarding the care of the patient.
\n
• Perform chest physiotherapy according to department standards.
\n
• Assist in the transport of patients requiring respiratory support.
\n
• Administer therapeutic gases such as oxygen as prescribed or according to departmental procedures.
\n
• The intern must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the area of the patients served and know the principles of growth and development over their lifespan.
\n
• Perform flutter valve therapy according to department standards.
\n
• Document interactions with and care given to the patient in the medical record and/or hospital information system.
\n
• Perform arterial punctures (radial and brachial arteries only) and analyze samples maintaining asepsis and quality as per department standards.
\n
• Administer IPPB therapy as prescribed or according to departmental procedures.
\n

Schedule:  Rotating days, weekends & holidays. Shifts include: 6:30AM-3PM & 2:30PM-11PM.

• Currently enrolled in a CoARC approved school of Respiratory Care.
\n
• The intern must have completed one semester of clinical rotations at a CoARC approved school of Respiratory Care.
\n

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

\n
• BLS required within 30 days of hire/transfer.
\n
• Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
\n
• Act 33 with renewal
\n
• Act 34 with renewal
\n
• Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
\n
