Public Trust/Other Required: None Job Family: Technical Solutions Senior level: Director Employment type: Full-time Job Description Join GDIT’s Intelligence and Homeland Security (IHS) CTO organization and help drive the technical solutions needed to win our most complex and strategic deals. As the Director, Solutions Architect for the IHS Chief Technology Office, you will manage the development of solutions for proposals in the Intelligence market space and directly interface with internal and external clients on a pre-proposal basis. You will analyze RFI and RFP requirements and develop responsive solutions including staffing and other costs, review solutions developed by others, present solutions to internal and external clients, develop and explain use-cases, and work closely with capture and proposal teams. You will develop logical and physical architectures and designs, author proposal materials including writing proposal sections and diagrams, and review the work of others in this area. You will recruit, hire and make decisions regarding staff assignments, follow up with individual solution architects who develop solutions, and manage a small to medium sized team of employees. Key Responsibilities Pursuit/Capture Leadership: Lead technical solution strategy throughout the Capture and Proposal lifecycle, from early Qualification through Proposal submission Contribute to GDIT win strategies and lead the development of technical win themes and solution readiness plans Engage current and prospective customers to understand critical needs, socialize and vet solutions, and advise on strategies to shape acquisitions that achieve desired results Identify and select the best technical solutions and approaches to meet anticipated or actual acquisition requirements Lead solution design and the development of key artifacts including architectural models, process diagrams, concepts of operation, staffing plans, etc. Develop unsolicited technical recommendations, collateral and RFI/SSN responses to engage prospective customers and position GDIT to win Collaborate with GDIT technical service areas and lines of business to identify and bring the best technical and business strategies and solutions to differentiate GDIT Contribute to teaming strategies including identifying and vetting potential partners Develop cost strategies, LOEs/BOEs/BOMs, and associated rationale Proposal Leadership: Ensure readiness of solution and proposal support team to prepare a compelling and compliant response to the government’s solicitation Lead development of the Technical volumes and/orals presentations for proposals Coach and advise more junior solution architecture and proposal support resources Ensure integration of technical solution with all sections and volumes of the proposal Review proposals and provide critical feedback needed to strengthen our solution and proposals Author Technical volume introductions, key sections and orals slides including developing compelling graphics Job Profile Summary: Provide business and technical architectural guidance to development teams, business groups, and customers for existing and new products and services. Develop marketing strategies, business concepts, and technical capabilities to maximize customer value while differentiating GDIT. Responsible for defining, designing, and implementing the full lifecycle of products and services, including concept of operations and procedures to enable delivery. Conduct analysis of alternatives to support business goals and objectives. Job Description (Continued): Develop technical and business solutions; identify solutions based on criteria, analyze trade space, and implement designs Research current and emerging technologies and propose changes and tailoring as needed Assess current system and process architectures and work with staff to recommend improvements Ensure technical architecture teams deliver efficient and effective system solutions Develop, enhance and maintain service design procedures and processes using applicable frameworks Prepare and present test plans, technical presentations, and analyst briefings Identify customer requirements, analyze alternatives and provide product recommendations related to software, platform and network configurations Provide updates to stakeholders on cost, schedule, and quality relative to objectives Provide expert guidance and leadership to less-experienced colleagues; may serve as task or project leader (not a people manager) Recognized as an industry leader in a specific technology Qualifications Minimal: 20+ years of related experience Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI with poly clearance (active clearance strongly preferred) Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent experience Preferred Qualifications: 10+ years of experience architecting technical solutions and leading complex capture pursuits and proposals Experience providing cybersecurity solutions to federal and DoD customers Experience with technical leadership and project management Demonstrated experience leading solution architecture for deals booked over $750M Ability to lead development of Technical proposal volumes for large-scale, strategic deals ($1B+) Strong collaboration, communication, and persuasion skills; ability to engage customers and influence action Ability to produce compliant, compelling narrative and visuals to present GDIT solutions Ability to conceptualize and communicate technical concepts through graphics Work Conditions: Hybrid work location between the GDIT facility in Herndon, VA and remote Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines Sitting for extended periods in a typical office setting About GDIT & Equal Opportunity GDIT is a global technology and professional services company delivering consulting, technology and mission services to major U.S. government agencies.
