• Develop and execute transportation strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.
• Resolve transportation-related issues and address customer concerns in a timely and professional manner
• Manage and negotiate contracts with transportation service providers and suppliers.
• Monitor transportation performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed to meet targets and goals.
• Supervise and manage transportation and shop.
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of company vehicles
• Ensure compliance with relevant local, state, and federal regulations governing transportation operations, safety, and environmental standards.
• Evaluate and implement technology solutions to improve transportation systems, processes, and tracking capabilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and customer service, to ensure optimal transportation network designs and support business objectives.
• Analyze transportation data and trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, cost savings, and enhanced customer service.
• Manage the transportation budget.
• Keep abreast of industry trends, best practices, and new regulations to drive innovation and ensure compliance.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency, bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
• Minimum of 5 years work experience as a transportation manager, logistics manager, or in a similar leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of transportation operations, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
• Proficient in using transportation management systems (TMS) and other related software.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a focus on data-driven strategies.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize competing demands.
• Demonstrated experience in managing transportation budgets and controlling costs.
• Familiarity with various transportation methods.
• Ability to travel as required to visit shop location, attend industry events, or meet with suppliers/clients.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 25lbs. on occasion.
• Ability to sit at the computer for extended periods of time.
