\nJob Summary:
\nProduces high quality images for interpretation by physicians that meet the standards established by the Mayo Clinic Radiology Departments. Requires competence, as determined by competency assessments, in a variety of imaging equipment and technology.
\nJob Responsibilities:
\n-Practices proper safety guidelines for themselves, support personnel and patients.
\n-Fosters teamwork through effective communication.
\n-Ensures high level of service to patients through proper communication, technique, and safety guidelines.
\n-Maintains flexibility to staff various work locations, shift times and lengths.
\n-Perform other functional duties as assigned to assure efficient and optimal patient care.

\nSkills: Required Skills & Experience:
\n-Organized, efficient and multifunctional.
\n-Ability to work independently.
\n-Requires excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrates effective communication.
\n-Ability to work varied hours, shift lengths and respond to an on-call pager which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays and weekends.
\nPreferred Skills & Experience:
\n-Ultrasound Sonographer experience.

\n-Graduate of an accredited sonography or radiography program.

\nRequired Certifications & Licensure:
\n-Registry-eligible candidates must be ARDMS registered in either Vascular Technology (RVT) or RDMS (Abdominal or OB/GYN) within 6 month of employment (RVT preferred first) and both RVT and RDMS within 12 months of employment.
\n-Third certification (Abdominal or OB/GYN) completed within 18 months of employment.
\n-Employees that provide breast imaging are required to obtain RDMS (Breast) certification within 24 months of achieved competency.
\n-Employees hired for a role specific to vascular sonography, who are not eligible to apply for Abdomen and OB/GYN certifications, are exempt from the requirement of obtaining these registries.
\n-BLS certified.
