Veterinary Assistant 
Full-time: 4 day, 10 hour shift
Las Cruces, NM

Animal Hospital of Las Cruces is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

As a Veterinary Assistant you’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.

Role Responsibilities:

• Assist veterinarians with gathering patient histories
• Establish and assist with carrying out treatment plans
• Perform patient diagnostics such as lab work and radiographs
• Communicate pertinent information about patient care to clients
• Maintain hospital and patient cleanliness using aseptic technique, proper protective equipment, and isolation protocol
• Frequently lift and moves patients up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds

• Previous experience in the veterinary field 
• Exceptional communication skills
• Professional and courteous
• Able to multi-task and establish priorities
• Detail oriented
• Self-starter who likes to take ownership of your work and you proactively go the extra mile for others with a positive attitude.
• Likes a challenge, has a desire to learn and grow.
• Saturday and Sunday availability
